LOCAL ISSUES, Sogdiana. Circa 1st century AD. Obol (Silver, 11 mm, 0.28 g, 1 h), tribal rulers of southern Sogdiana. Diademed and bearded Parthian style bust of a King to left; around, traces of legend ('Kydr' (?) = Kidara in Sogdian). Rev. Archer standing facing, head to right, holding bow in his left hand; all within circular incuse. HGC 12, 512. Zeno-215464. Beautifully toned and very sharp, a beautiful piece. Extremely fine.
